Alexi Hubbell Photography’s unique style can be best described as high contrast, focus on shadows and highlights - not “light and airy”, a combination of sophisticated fashion-type imagery with an emphasis on the natural landscape of the wedding area. We shoot a combination of modern, dramatic lighting in the getting ready portion of the day, using architecture and furniture accessible nearby and do not bring props for detail shots - we use what is handy. We also incorporate a few wide, landscape-style portraits that showcase the scenery, depending on your venue. We use a combination of magazine-style poses as well as candids. Each couple and wedding is unique. If there are any special requests or questions in regards to style please note them now so we may set expectations right away.

We want your wedding photos to be flawless. The photographer(s) will be unobtrusive and ready to capture your special moments. Here are some suggestions for you to ensure this happens:

Please note that if you are planning a sparkler exit and would like it to be at the very end of the reception, you will need to make sure you have purchased enough time with us. If the sparkler exit is set for 10:00 pm, you will need to reserve our services until 10:30 pm at least.
Please be sure to have all jewelry, special items. shoes, gowns, keepsakes, and a copy of the invitation in one place and ready to be photographed on the day of. Do not put on anything you want photographed before we get there. Make sure your accessories are unboxed and unwarpped and ready to be photographed. Please do not make that the photographer’s job as that is very time consuming and makes us risk damage to your items.
Clean your rings
In order to allow for a private portrait session of bride and groom, we will need at least half an hour of your time alone with the photographer.
Be kind to ensure the presence of all the family members required at your wedding photos. Plan for about 5 minutes per photo for shots with fewer than 14 people, up to 10 minutes per photo for shots with more than 14 people. It always takes some time to gather people together and pose them so that everyone can be seen, etc.
Before the wedding day, inform the people that you want in posed group photos where and when they will be needed for pictures.
Pre-assign a family member or friend who knows the people to be in the pictures to round them up for the photos. Getting people where they need to be for the photos is by far the most time consuming part of group shots.
Please, make sure the cutting of the cake and grand exits occurs within the booking time. If overtime hours are needed on the day-of the cost is $400/hour. We bill by one hour minimums. Meaning, if we stay and extra 30 minutes for your exit, you will be billed for the hour.
Please also consider your shoe choice if you want “adventure” type photos. Brides in heels have a hard time navigating the rocky Colorado landscape to get those epic photos they very much want. Please be sure you have allotted enough time to travel to destination photo spots if needed.
Remember, do not stress! This is YOUR special day. We are professionals and will do our best to make your experience as peaceful and joyful as possible. Go have some fun!
